Documents Required for Boarding
Civil Aviation Instruction (IAC) 107-1002 of ANAC Ordinance no. 1.712/DGAC issued November 29, 2002, deals with the documents required and accepted for boarding passengers in Brazilian airports for domestic or international flights.
According to this IAC ruling, the legal identification documents provided for in Federal Legislation are only accepted if they are the originals and are within the validity term.
Documents must be recent and in good state of repair, enabling identification of the Clients. Please note that in the event of identity documents, which have a very old photograph, the Client can be kept from boarding.
Check the list of documents below for:
• DOMESTIC FLIGHTS:
Brazilians:
Over 18 years of age:
- Original RG (Brazilian identification card) or;
- Valid Brazilian Driver License with photo;
- Valid Brazilian Passport;
- Work Papers;
- Professional Work Papers, issued by Counselors with photo (Ex: OAB (Brazilian Bar Association, CRM (Certified Public Accountant), etc.);
- Identity Cards issued by the Ministries and agencies subordinate to the President of the Republic, including Navy, Army, Aeronautics and Defense Ministry commands.
Important notice: Authenticated copies of documents will not be acceptable, only the original documents.
Only Police Reports issued in the event of theft or robbery of documents will be accepted. Excuses of lost or misplaced documents are not acceptable.
12 to under 18 years of age
Accompanied or Unaccompanied:
- Original RG (Brazilian Identification Card) or;
- Original Birth Certificate or authenticated copies;
- Valid Brazilian Passport;
- Work Papers.
Important Note: Only in the event of the presentation of birth certificates will authenticated copies be accepted.
Only Police Reports issued in the event of theft or robbery of documents will be accepted. Excuses of lost or misplaced documents are not acceptable.
5 to 12 years of age
Accompanied:
- Original RG (Brazilian Identification Card) or Original Birth Certificate or authenticated copies;
- No Judicial Authorization is required (Juvenile Court) provided that the child is accompanied by a person over the age of 18 and is related up to the third degree (siblings, aunts/uncles or grandparents) who have documentation that can substantiate relationship, or if the companion has express authorization from the father, mother or person responsible in writing and duly notarized signature.
Unaccompanied:
- Original (Brazilian Identification Card) RG or Original Birth Certificate or authenticated copies;
- Completion of the Unaccompanied Minor Travel Authorization protocol at the airport;
- Judicial authorization (Juvenile Court) issued in the boarding city containing:
Date and round trip route (depending on the case), as well as the name and relationship of the person responsible for the minor at the time of boarding or de-boarding.
Gol Intelligent Airlines does not offer any exclusive companion service for minors by extra crew members.
Up to 5 years of age
Accompanied:
- Original RG (Brazilian Identification Card) or Original Birth Certificate or authenticated copies;
- Judicial Authorization is not required (Juvenile Court), provided that he/she is accompanied by a person over 18 years of age and is a direct third degree relative (siblings, uncles/aunts or grandparents) with documentation which substantiates the degree of relationship or in the event that the companion has been expressly authorized by the father, mother or the person responsible in writing and the signature has been duly notarized.
- Newborns may only travel after they are one week in age.
Important note: In the event of twins, triplets, etc. one adult per child is required.
Unaccompanied:
Gol intelligent airlines does not transport children under the age of five who are unaccompanied by an adult.
Passengers of other nationalities:
- Foreign passport;
- Brazilian Alien Resident Card – RNE or;
- Diplomatic and consular identities.
• INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS (ARGENTINA/URUGUAY/PARAGUAY):
• Brazilian:
- Original RG (Brazilian Identification Card) or;
- Valid Brazilian Passport.
- Children under 18 years of age:
- In compliance with article 84 of the Children and Adolescents Statute, judicial authorization is not required when the child or adolescent is accompanied by both parents, guardians or trustee. When traveling in the company of only one of the parents, the other one must authorize the trip in writing and the signature must be notarized. In any other situation, judicial authorization is imperative.
- No child or adolescent born in Brazilian territory can leave the country in the company of a foreign resident or person domiciled abroad.
- Birth certificates for children under 18 years of age are not acceptable for international flights.
Argentineans, Uruguayans and Paraguayans:
- Valid foreign passport or;
- Original national identification document.
- Children under 18 years of age:
- Consult the Department of Immigration of the countries of origin and destination regarding the requirements required for the minor to leave and enter these countries.
Other Nationalities:
- Valid foreign passport (verify the need for visas and vaccinations) or;
- Brazilian Alien Resident Card – RNE.
- Children under 18 years of age:
- Consult the Department of Immigration of the countries of origin and destination regarding the requirements required for the minor to leave and enter these countries.
• INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS (BOLIVIA):
Brazilians:
- Original RG (Brazilian Identification Card) or;
- Valid Brazilian Passport.
- No child or adolescent born in Brazilian territory can leave the country in the company of a foreign resident or person domiciled abroad.
- Birth certificates for children under 18 years of age are not acceptable for international flights.
Bolivians:
- Original national identification document;
- Valid foreign passport or.
Children under 18 years of age:
- Consult the Department of Immigration of the countries of origin and destination regarding the requirements required for the minor to leave and enter these countries.
Other nationalities:
- Foreign Passport and international certificate of vaccination or re-vaccination against yellow fever from ANVISA, within the validity term, or;
- Brazilian Alien Resident Card – RNE.
- Children under 18 years of age:
- Consult the Department of Immigration from the countries of origin and destination regarding the requirements for a minor to leave and enter these countries.
• INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS (CHILE):
Brazilians:
Minors (under 18 years of age):
- In compliance with article 84 of the Statute for Children and Adolescents, court authorization is not necessary when the child or adolescent is accompanied by both parents, legal guardian or trustee. When traveling accompanied by only one parent, the other parent must authorize travel in writing and the letter must be notarized. Under any other circumstances, court authorization is absolutely necessary.
- in compliance with article 85 of the Statute for Children and Adolescents, no child or adolescent born in national territory can leave the country without prior express court authorization in the event that they are in the company of a foreign resident or a person domiciled abroad.
- Birth certificates are not acceptable in the event of minors (children under the age of 18) traveling.
Over 18 years of age:
- Original RG (national identification card) or valid Brazilian passport;
- Vaccinations are required for certain regions of Chile, confirm by checking the Mandatory Vaccinations section.
Chileans
Minors (under 18 years of age):
- Consult the Immigration Department of the countries of origin and destination concerning the necessary requirements concerning minors exiting and entering these countries.
Over 18 years of age:
- Valid foreign national passport or;
- Original national identification document.
Passengers of other nationalities:
- Consult the Immigration Department of the countries of origin and destination concerning the necessary requirements related to minors exiting and entering these countries.
Failure to comply with the entrance regulations could result in the passenger being deported to his/her country of origin.
Mandatory vaccinations:
Passengers who have booked Bolivia, Peru and Easter Island (Chile) as their final destinations must verify whether they have an up to date International Certificate of Vaccination (CIV – Certificado Internacional de Vacinação) for yellow fever.
Travelers who do not have this certificate must keep in mind that this vaccination must be taken at least 10 days prior to boarding.

• INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS (PERU):
Terms for Brazilians:
Exit from Brazil with destination to Peru shall require the payment of the prevailing Brazilian boarding tax, including a fee of US$ 15.00 (tourist rate of exchange). Exit from other countries with destination to Peru shall comply with the regulations of the country in question.
Minors (under 18 years of age):
- In compliance with article 84 of the Children and Adolescents Statute, judicial authorization is not required when the child or adolescent is accompanied by both parents, guardians or trustee. When traveling in the company of only one of the parents, the other one must authorize the trip in writing and the signature must be notarized. In any other situation, judicial authorization is imperative.
- No child or adolescent born in Brazilian territory can leave the country in the company of a foreign resident or person domiciled abroad.

Important Notes:
Please not that only the original RG and valid Brazilian passport are valid as correct documents for flights between, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
ATTENTION: According to Article 84 and 85 of the Children and Adolescents Statute (Law no. 8.069, issued July 13, 1990) when dealing with travel abroad, authorization is not necessary if the child or adolescent:
I – is accompanied by both parents or person responsible;
II – is traveling in the company of one of the two parents who has been expressly authorized by the other in a document the signature of which has been duly notarized.
Without prior and express judicial authorization, no child or adolescent born in Brazilian territory may leave the Country in the company of a foreign resident or person domiciled abroad.

Mandatory vaccinations:
Passengers having a final destination in Peru, Bolivia or Panama that, by chance, come into Brazil for a connection, must present, on the day of their departure, the International Vaccination Document (IVD) proving the incubation of the Yellow fever vaccine, with a minimum time of 10 days. The rule does not apply to children under nine months, pregnant women and passengers with a vaccine exemption certificate.
