Required documentation

In order to board to some international flights, it is required to have passport (for instance, if the destination is the United States).

But, if the destination country is a member of the “Mercosul” - Southern Latin American Common Market - or if the country has a travelling agreement with Brazil (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and Bolivia), the following documents may also be utilized:

- Identity Card (RG [Portuguese sigla])
Warning: the document must show an issuance date being less than ten years.
- Identity Registration Card (RIC)
- Foreigner´s Identity Card as issued by the Federal Police (RNE)

• Voter´s Card for Women (its use was allowed up to March 15th, 2012)

Brazil • Civil Identity Registration Card (RIC)
• Identity Card as issued by the Public Security Secretariat of one of the States of Brazil; it has national validity
• Foreigner´s Identity Card as issued by the Federal Police (RNE)

Uruguay • Identity Card

As regards to international flights, all of the aforementioned documents, to be submitted, must be the original ones and they must show the current validity period.

Warning!
Some countries that require the passport as the compulsory document for foreigners also demand the entry visa for Brazilian travelers.

If you are going to visit any of the countries that are listed here below, please get information in order to know if there is the need of an entry visa for the respective country:

Aruba For the whole period of the stay. The visa is required, except up to a maximum stay of 30 days. Required
Barbados For the whole period of the stay. The visa is required, except up to a maximum stay of 6 months. Recommended
Curacao For the whole period of the stay. The visa is required, except up to a maximum stay of 3 months. Recommended
Dominican Republic On the arrival date in the country. The visa is required, except for Brazilians who may get a Tourist Card, at the arrival time, for a maximum stay of 30 days. The Tourist Card requires a fee* of 10 U.S.A. dollars. Recommended
Panama As a minimum, for 3 months after the arrival date in the country. The visa is required, except up to a maximum stay of 180 days for tourism trips. Recommended
Suriname For at least 6 months after arrival in the country. Visas are not required for Brazilians staying less than 90 days. Nevertheless, in such cases, you will be required to pay a US$ 100 fee for a Tourist Card. Required
United States Showing maturity in up to six months as from the date of the journey. The visa is required. It is required to prove that the traveler has a return air ticket, even if being issued by another airline company.
