Fees, credits and refunds

In order to ensure even greater peace of mind, get to know each of GOL's fares and find the one that best suits you before you purchase your ticket. See  if there is a chance that you will need to change or cancel your ticket. If so, opt for the Premium or Flexible fares, which don't have change or cancellation fees. For more fare information, please click here

On the following table you will see which fares include fees or penalties in the event of change or cancellation, as well as the fee amounts for changing flights and reservations.

Cancellations or Changes R$600.00 or US$300.00 No No R$120.00 or US$70.00* R$120.00 or US$70.00*
No-show R$600.00 or US$300.00 No No R$180.00 or US$120.00* R$180.00 or US$120.00*
Refundable amount Not refundable 90% of fare 90% of fare 50% of fare Not refundable

(*) Delta flights R$600.00

Once you've bought a Ticket, you have a day to cancel it for any reason and receive a full refund—including any prepaid fees and Direct Ticketing Charges—with no cancellation fee.

Example:  you purchased a ticket under the Plan Ahead plan, but couldn't make the flight (no show). For refunds, there will be a 50% charge on the amount paid for the ticket, in addition to the US$ 120.00 no show fine. The remaining amount, after the fees have been deducted, may be refunded to you or left as a credit with GOL for later use.

Reservations for unaccompanied minors (UMNR) between the ages of 5 and 12 incur an unaccompanied minor charge of US$ 75.00 per segment, per passenger.

Here's some additional information on each option:

When you cancel or change a flight, you may receive a credit, that is, leave the amount to be used on GOL flights at a later date. If you choose this option, this amount may be used for purchasing new tickets, including tickets with promotional fares, and for paying for excess luggage, fare differences or airport fees.

You will have 12 months to use the credit, as of the ticket purchase date. Example:  you purchased a ticket on Jan 1, 2011 and canceled your trip on Mar 01, 2011 for a credit with GOL.

You will have until Jan 01, 2012, or 12 months after the purchase, to use the credit, regardless of the date on which you cancelled the reservation.
But please note! If you are not a registered member on the website, you cannot choose the credit alternative. In that case, your only option is to receive a refund. For more information, please contact one of our attendants on our Online service.

When you cancel or change a flight, you can opt for a refund. Once you've bought a Ticket you have until the end of the payment issuance to cancel it for any given reason and receive a full refund - including any prepaid fees and Direct Ticketing Charges - with no cancellation fee. After that, if you request a refund, you will receive a part of the amount paid for the ticket. Administrative fees may be deducted from the total amount, as per the fare regulation. Also be aware that some fares do not allow for refunds after the first flight has been used. If you issued your ticket with Smiles miles for a GOL flight, pay attention to avoid missing your flight and losing your miles. In the event of a no-show, your miles are no longer refundable as of May, 2012. To avoid this loss, GOL is always ready to help you change or cancel your flight beforehand.

You may request a refund anytime within 12 months from the date of the original ticket purchase. Note: if the requested refund is tied to a credit, the applicable fees will be deducted.
