Terms and Conditions
To bring your dog or cat into the cabin, it's important to know all the service rules:

  • Dogs and cats over six (6) months of age and weighing no more than 12 kg (26 lbs.), including their kennel, may be carried onboard aircraft.
  • Each passenger may bring up to one (1) pet, provided they are not traveling with a child or an infant. Only adult passengers (16 years old and above) are allowed to carry pets onboard.
  • For safety reasons, wheelchair users are not allowed to carry pets in the cabin.
  • Animal transportation is an optional service that is ancillary to passenger transportation, meaning that you cannot purchase an exclusive seat to accommodate your pet.
  • It is the sole responsibility of the passengers to provide all required documentation for the transport of animals on domestic and international flights. Please refer to the page “Rules and Documentation for Traveling with Pets” for more details.
  • Only two (2) items are allowed in the cabin, with the pet carrier considered as one (1) item. For customers with the Basic fare, it is permitted to carry the pet carrier and a handbag or backpack. For other fares, if the customer is carrying a small bag and a handbag or backpack, one of them must be checked in at the counter.
  • Two types of pet kennels are allowed on board the aircraft:
    • Rigid (synthetic fiber, durable plastic), with dimensions up to 22 cm high, 32 cm wide and 43 cm deep;
    • Flexible (waterproof fabric), up to 24 cm high, 32 cm wide and 43 cm deep.
  • The kennel must be in a hygienic condition and must be leak-proof (permeable fabrics, straw, wood and similar materials are not acceptable).
  • The kennel must have enough room for the animal to move around, change position, turn around, roll over, and be comfortable. The kennel should also have an opening for air circulation. GOL reserves the right to refuse boarding to pets in kennels that do not meet the required standards and may therefore pose a risk to the safety of the pet and the flight.
  • Pets must be placed under the seat immediately in front of their guardian's seat. For safety reasons, they must be placed under window seats. Two pets cannot be accommodated in the same row. Emergency exit and first row seats are not available. This is for the safety of the pet and other passengers.
  • The pet must remain in its kennel in the departure lounge, during the flight, at disembarkation and in the GOL Premium Lounge (if it has access to this environment with its guardian).
  • Product refunds are allowed exclusively for customers with Flex, Premium Economy and INSIGNIA Business Flex fares when requested before boarding through the customer service center. For Basic, Light, Classic and INSIGNIA Business Classic fares, refunds are not available.
  • Refunds requested after the flight (no-show) are not allowed, regardless of the fare type.
  • If the rescheduling is requested before the flight by the customer, the pet transport service fee will be fully refunded, and the passenger must book the service again (subject to availability) through the available sales channels. If there is a change in the travel segment, it is necessary to check for any fare differences for the new itinerary.

General recommendations regarding the transport crate
  • Fit under the seat in front, without needing to press. For safety reasons, seats in the first row or emergency exit are not allowed. The GOL pet carrier already comes in ideal dimensions and offers the comfort your pet needs to travel. Learn more;
  • Have internal dimensions consistent with the size of the animal, allowing it to fit comfortably and not causing harm to the animal;
  • Have small openings for air intake and circulation;
  • Have latches that prevent accidental opening, internally or externally;
  • Have an internal floor lined or provided with material that absorbs any need of your pet, preventing leaks during transport.

How to check in with your pet

Check-in for travel with your pet must be done exclusively at the GOL service counter. To ensure greater peace of mind, it is important that you arrive:

  • Two hours in advance for domestic flight check-in;
  • Three hours in advance for international flight check-in.

This timeframe is necessary so that you can pick up your Pet Pass at our service counters and present all the required documents according to your travel destination!
