(Visit www.agricultura.gov.br for information on issuance and countries of acceptance). It is necessary to inform yourself about acceptance for countries where Brazil has an equivalence agreement.
This passport is individual and non-transferable and valid for the life of the animal. For international travel, the registration and signature of the information by the Veterinarian responsible for the animal must be done within a maximum period of 10 (ten) days before the animal's boarding.
International flight International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) In addition to the documents above, pets that will be taken for international travel must carry the certificate issued for international flights. For more information on the issuance of the CVI, access the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply. Valid for 60 days from the date of legalization by Vigiagro.
International flight Certificado Zoosanitário Internacional – CZI Certificate issued for international flight. Valid for 60 calendar days from the date of issue.

Certificate issued for international flight.

Validity:

Valid for 60 calendar days from the date of issue.


Very important

  • Documents presented at check-in must be original and in good condition;
  • Proofs of vaccination campaigns are accepted, as long as they contain the complete data of the animal, owner, vaccine (application date, name, laboratory and batch) with stamp and signature of the veterinarian.
  • The passport for the transit of dogs and cats does not require the health certificate and vaccination card. The document is accepted by the countries with which Brazil has an equivalence agreement;
  • In the case of flights to Suriname, it is essential to issue the health certificate five days before the departure date. In addition, the document must record the non-infestation by myiasis.
  • Your pet’s adaptation with the transport box is one of the most important points when traveling.
  • If you have purchased a Pet in the Cabin but are not going to use it, you can request a refund or credit of the amount paid. The request for this refund must be made prior to departure through My Travels or the Customer Service.

Notice: This is a gradual process and must be carried out whenever your pet has a trip scheduled with GOL.

The rules and values ​​presented for the Dog&Cat Cabin and Dog&Cat + Room services do not apply to cases of people with disabilities traveling with a guide dog or hearing dog. In these situations, transporting the dog is free for national and international flights, but it is necessary to follow some recommendations.

Special rules on domestic flights

Fernando de Noronha Destination

Anyone traveling to Fernando de Noronha with their pet must request a prior authorization from the Archipelago Administration, in accordance with District Decree Nº 019/2004. 
The authorization is issued by the Fernando de Noronha Secretariat of Environment and Tourism by calling (81) 3619-0810.

Origin in Carajás

As this is a forest reserve area, an authorization must be requested from the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), at the institute’s office in Parauapebas (J street, 202 – Bairro União, Parauapebas – PA | POST CODE: 68515- 000).

Then, the original documents must be sent, such as official identification with photo of the airline ticket holder, health certificate for the animal, issued by a veterinarian, and the animal's vaccination card.

 


Rules in other countries

Some countries impose specific requirements to allow pets to enter their territories.

The United States

As of July 14, 2021, dogs traveling from CDC-listed countries are not allowed to enter the United States due to the risk of rabies (see list of countries here) or who have been in those countries within the last 6 months prior to travel. This applies to dogs in the cabin, assistance dogs and dogs traveling in the hold, regardless of breed.

Brazil is among the countries with restrictions; therefore, GOL suspended the transport of animals for flights to and from the United States.

Paraguay

In Paraguay, it is only possible to enter with a pet with the presentation of the documents specified in the chart above.

The procedure for issuing the International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) must be as provided for in Mercosur and destination country regulations.

The passenger is responsible for complying with Paraguayan legislation, who must previously contact the National Service of Quality and Animal Health of Paraguay (www.senacsa.gov.py), as well as the consulate of the country of destination of the trip, including the need to legalize the documents necessary for boarding.

Suriname

In Suriname, it is only possible to enter with a pet, with the presentation of the documents specified in the chart above. The Health Certificate must also be issued five days before the date of departure and record the non-infestation by myiasis.

The procedure for issuing the CVI must be the one provided for in the regulations of the country of destination.

The passenger is responsible for complying with Suriname's legislation, who must previously contact the consulate of the country of destination of the trip, including the need to legalize the documents necessary for boarding.

Uruguay

In Uruguay, it is only possible to enter with a pet with the presentation of the documents specified in the chart above, in addition to a health certificate containing the following information:

  • The animal must be free of symptoms, infectious and parasitic diseases;
  • Internal and external deworming, where the validity and product applied to the animal are stated;
  • Current rabies vaccine, with information on the date of vaccination, type, series and brand of vaccine;
  • In the case of dogs, there must be proof of treatment against echinococcus tapeworm, with medication containing the active ingredient praziquantel, within a period between 72 hours and 30 days before admission.

Uruguay does not accept animals that have been previously diagnosed with Leishmaniasis.

The procedure for issuing the International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) must be the one provided for in the regulations of Mercosur and the country of destination.

Every animal of the canine species that enters or returns to the country must have an electronic individual identification associated with the CVI (ISO 11784 standard microchip with HDX or FDH-B technology).

The passenger is responsible for complying with Uruguayan legislation, who must previously contact the Uruguayan Ministry of Farming, Agriculture and Fisheries (www.mgap.gub.uy), as well as the consulate of the country of destination of the trip, including the need to legalize the documents necessary for boarding.
