
Which document does the minor need to travel?
The necessary documentation will depend a lot on which kind of trip (domestic or international) and with whom the baby, child or teenager will travel with.
Domestic Flights
The document of the child or adolescent under the age of 16 must prove the parent's parentage or kinship, who must also present a valid identification document with a photo. Travellers’ documents must be in good condition.
Which documents are allowed to identify the minor and allow their boarding?
- Valid passport with parentage information. If it does not have that information, another document is necessary to prove kinship or Federal Police confirmation;
- Original or certified copy of the ID card (RG);
- Birth certificate is also valid for passengers under the age of 12;
- DNI (National Identity Document);
- In order to have the Police Report for children under the age of 12 accepted, a consult must be done with the Children and Youth Court from each respective location.
According to the Child and Adolescent Statute, the minor from 15 years old and eleven months is able to travel escorted by relatives over the age of 18 up to the third degree (parents, grandparents, grand-grandparents, uncles or aunts, siblings, nephews or nieces).
Minor traveler documents that must be presented to prove kinship:
Travel with parents or sibling over 18 years of age:
- ID card (RG);
- Birth Certificate;
- Valid passport with parentage information. If it does not have that information, another document is necessary to prove kinship or Federal Police confirmation.
Travel with grand-parents or uncles/aunts:
- Birth Certificate.
Important
- GOL does not transport children under the age of 8 years old uncompanioned by an over 18 years old guardian.
- Babies up to 1 year and 11 months old are able to board on domestic flights without paying for airfare. On international flights, they pay 10% of the adult’s fare. On both domestic and international flights, the baby must travel in the lap of a responsible adult over 18 years of age.

International flights
Which documents are allowed to identify the minor and allow their boarding?
- Valid passport with parentage information. If it does not have that information, another document is necessary to prove kinship or Federal Police confirmation;
- ID card (RG), only for trips to Mercosul countries.
In case of children born in Mercosul’s Member State or Associated State, if the document presented is the ID card, it must be presented herewith the birth certificate.
In case of the child under the age of 16 is travelling unaccompanied by the parents or guardians, beyond the documents mentioned above, it is necessary to also present:

If the child or teenager is travelling with only one of the parents:
You must present a judiciary authorization or authorization of the other parent with legal certification (with two original copies for the latter). -
If the child or teenager is travelling accompanied by third parties over the age of 18:
A judiciary authorization or authorization of both parents with legal certification (with two original copies for the latter) is necessary. - If the child or teenager is travelling unaccompanied:
- An authorization with two copies from both parentes or guardians with the child’s photo (optional) and with legal certificate by authenticity or resemblance is necessary; OR
- Judiciary authorization (obligatory with two copies); OR
- Passports which contain inclusion for international travel authorization, where on the common passport identification page there must have the travel authorization printed with only one of the parents or unaccompanied.
Parents or legal guardians’ documents:
- Valid passport or in case of trip to Mercosul countries, ID card (RG);
- Citizens born in Mercosul’s Member States or Associated States may present the original ID card or passport within the expiration date.
*Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
Destinations which require visa:
- United States;
- Panama (except for stays less than 180 days for turism);
- Dominican Republic (Except for Brazilians, who can obtain a Tourist Card at the arrival for stays less than 30 days);
- Suriname (except for stays less than 3 months. In this case, a 100 dollars fare is charged).
Before purchasing a ticket, it is important to consult the consulate of the destination country to find out about the visa, as the rules vary from country to country. All destinations require a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of return.

• Notice! For trip with destination of exit in the Mexican city of Cancun, travellers of all ages must present the Immigration form from the country. The document must be made with two copies: the first will stay at the immigration entry and the second must be delivered in the return. In case the traveller does not present it, the traveller will have to request a copy therefore paying for it. Visit and fill the Cancun immigration form.

GOL provides a special baby car seat that can be used on board aircraft, for an extra fee. It accommodates a child up to 2 years old and must be requested at least 48 hours in advance for domestic flights and 72 hours for international flights.
For safety reasons, the installation of the baby car seat needs to follow some rules, such as not impeding the movement of passengers and emergency exits. In this case, the price of a new seat is charged.
If you want, you can bring your own baby car seat, but it must have a seal that identifies the product as suitable for use on airplanes. Here, the price of a discounted new seat is charged.
Domestic Flights
In case the escorting is done with a person over 18 years of age and without any kinship, there must be an authorization from de parents or guardians and the presentation of one of the following items:
• Original identification card (with photo) valid for all national territory. (For example, ID card or passport).
• Valid passport which shows the authorization for the minor to travel unaccompanied.
Written authorization
Besides the valid identification document, in cases which the child or teenager are up to 15 years of age is travelling with a person of over 18 years of age without any kinship, it is necessary to take:
• Written authorization from the parents or guardians, with legal certification. It is worth to know that the legal authority may, by requests of the parents or guardians, concede a 2-years valid authorization.
• In case of the written authorization does have the legal certification, the signature validation and the minor’s boarding will only happen through the presence of the parents or legal guardians during the check-in.

• Original identification card (with photo) valid for all national territory. (For example, ID card or passport).
