Note regarding the grounding of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft

3/13/2019

GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes reports that since the start of operations with the 737 Max 8 aircraft in June 2018, it has performed 2,933 flights, totaling more than 12,700 hours, with complete safety and efficiency. Currently the company's fleet consists of 121 Boeing aircraft, seven of which are the 737 Max 8.

Since safety is the number one priority of GOL and it guides absolutely all of its GOL’s initiatives, effective 8:00PM today it will suspend the commercial operations of its 737 Max 8 aircraft fleet.

GOL reiterates its full confidence in the safety of its operations and in Boeing, our sole partner since the company's inception in 2001, and is monitoring the facts very closely in order to make the return of aircraft to regular operations in the shortest time possible.

Customers scheduled to travel on 737 Max 8 aircraft will be communicated and rebooked beginning today on other GOL flights or on other airlines such as our partner Delta Air Lines. The customer service is also available by phone 0800 404 0465. The company will continue to operate international long-haul destinations with Boeing 737 NGs, and does not envision cancellations in its network.

This decision was previously communicated to The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), which establishes the rules for civil aviation in Brazil.

GOL apologizes for any inconvenience caused to Customers and appreciates their understanding.
