Learn more about the changes and new benefits

The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), a Brazilian civil aviation authority, has approved new regulations that will give you more benefits when you fly. The changes will be in effect starting on March 14, 2017. In addition to new regulations regarding baggage allowance, every customer can rely on simpler procedures when dealing with lost baggage, changing their mind about a ticket purchase, and reserving a return flight.

Learn more about the changes:

Carry-on baggage

The changes guarantee that all passengers are entitled to a carry-on bag weighing no more than 10 kg (22 lbs) on flights operated by GOL, as long as the baggage conforms to the following dimensions: 40 x 25 x 55 cm (16 x 10 x 22 in), measured in length, width and height. Under the old rules, passengers were entitled to just 5 kg (11 lbs).

Name corrections on tickets

If your name was entered incorrectly during ticket purchase, you can request to change it at no additional cost, both for domestic and international ticket purchases.

This applies to purchases made through GOL's sales channels. If your reservation was made through another channel, please contact your ticket issuer.

Guaranteed return flight

When you purchase a domestic round-trip ticket and do not use your departure segment, your return ticket is still guaranteed.* You will need to notify us in advance, up to the departure time of the flight segment you will not use.

Loss of baggage

If the baggage is lost during a domestic flight, it must be returned within 7 days. For international flights, the deadline is 21 days.

Cancelling ticket purchases

If for any reason you cannot board your flight and wish to cancel your ticket purchase, you have 24 hours to do so, as long as the ticket was purchased at least 7 days before the flight date.

The ANAC rules are designed to improve travel for all passengers.

Next time you fly with GOL, remember that you can count on these new benefits.

*This rule also applies to tickets purchased outside Brazil, provided the flights are to and from cities in Brazil.
