Are you going to fly Delta Air Lines?

Then below you will find the main rules for this GOL partner airline:

Upon arriving at the airport, go to the counter of the airline operating the first segment of your trip.

Passengers may not check into flights operated by GOL and Delta through GOL's digital channels when GOL is operating the first segment of the trip. Don't forget that you need to present the documentation* required for your trip, such as a valid passport, visas, and proof of vaccination.

To check baggage, go to the customer service counters of the airline operating the first segment of your trip.

Remember that you can accrue miles through the Smiles Program. Simply provide your Smiles number at check-in.

*Passengers are responsible for all documentation, including documents pertaining to visas and vaccinations. We suggest passengers consult the embassies of their destination countries to avoid any inconveniences related to documentation.

Special Services

Contact the customer service center of the airline operating the first segment of your trip to request special services.

Seat assignment

You can choose your seat during the check-in process with the partner airline on the date of your flight. If you are connecting to a partner airline flight, you will receive a boarding pass with a randomly assigned seat.

Security Information (Secure Flight)

Passengers flying to the United States will have their documents checked by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Should you have a redress number, please provide it when you purchase your ticket or during check-in.

Packing your bags

Round-trip tickets originating in South America allow Business class passengers to check 2 bags weighing up to 32 kg (71 lbs) each and Economy class passengers to check 2 bags weighing up to 23 kg (51 lbs) each for free.

The international baggage policy is observed by GOL only on flights issued with the same locator/reservation code (e-ticket) as the international flight. The international baggage allowance will not be honored for tickets purchased separately, even if they are issued by a partner airline. In such cases, the baggage rules for the segment purchased apply.

Excess Baggage Payment

Passengers who have excess baggage may pay the excess baggage fees when checking their baggage at a counter.

Fragile items

Fragile items will be accepted, provided they are packaged properly. However, should the item be damaged for any reason during transport, the airline will not be liable for any compensation. Please check the air transportation contract for more information.

No type of perishable food is accepted. For more information, please contact the consulates or customs offices of your countries of destination or transit.

Transporting items for infants (children up to 2 years of age)

If the infant is traveling in a separate (reserved) seat, the infant is entitled to the same amount of baggage as an adult. If the infant is traveling on an adult’s lap, the infant is entitled to the following:

  • One checked bag weighing up to 10 kg (22 lbs).

Passengers are allowed to check 1 baby stroller (for personal use) and/or 1 child seat free of charge.

Baggage Claim

Checked baggage on codeshare flights must be claimed at the final destination.

When a passenger traveling to Brazil from North America is making a connection, the checked baggage must be claimed at the first Brazilian destination. After going through the mandatory customs procedures, the passenger must go to a GOL counter to check their baggage again.

Lost baggage service

In the event of lost baggage, the company responsible for registering the incident and following up on the status of the baggage is the last airline to have transported the passenger. If it is determined that the baggage was lost during a connection between an international flight and a domestic GOL flight, the passenger must file a lost baggage claim with the company that transported the baggage during the previous segment.

Damaged baggage

In the event baggage is damaged, the passenger must file a complaint with the last airline to transport the baggage. If it is determined that the baggage was damaged during a connection between an international flight and a domestic GOL flight, the passenger must file a complaint with the airline that transported the baggage in the first segment.

Carry-on baggage

Passengers are entitled to one carry-on bag whose dimensions may not exceed 55 cm (22 in) in height, 40 cm (16 in) in width and 25 cm (10 in) in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, and whose weight does not exceed 10 kg (22 lbs).

All electronics must be transported as carry-on baggage. Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders and tablets must go through the x-ray machine at the security checkpoint at the boarding area.

Valuable objects like jewelry and cash must also be transported in carry-on baggage.

Bladed or blunt weapons, firearms, firearm cartridges and ammunition, printer cartridges, liquids in bottles over 100 ml, combustible materials, batteries with electrolytes, lithium batteries with output greater than 160 Wh, fireworks, explosives, paint, chemical products and mercury thermometers are prohibited in carry-on baggage.
