Packing your bags
The baggage allowance for Air France flights departing from Brazil is:
- Business Class: 2 (two) items weighing up to 32 kg (71 lbs) each.
- Premium Economy: 2 (two) items weighing up to 32 kg (71 lbs) each.
- Economy class: 1 (one) item weighing up to 23 kg (51 lbs).
On any other segment not originating in Brazil:
- Business class: 2 (two) items weighing up to 32 kg (71 lbs) each.
- Premium Economy: 2 (two) items weighing up to 23 kg (51 lbs) each.
- Classe Econômica: 1 (uma) peças de até 23 kg.
The sum of the three dimensions (length, width, height) of each piece of baggage may not exceed 158 cm (62 inches).
The international baggage allowance will be honored by GOL only on flights issued with the same locator code and that take place within 24 hours of the original flight. The international baggage allowance will not be honored for tickets purchased separately, even if they are issued by a partner airline. In such cases, the domestic baggage allowance will apply.
Paying for excess baggage
Passengers who have excess baggage may pay the excess baggage fees when checking their baggage at a check-in counter. For more information, please visit the Air France website.
Fragile items are accepted, provided they are appropriately packaged. Passengers transport fragile items at their own risk and will not be reimbursed for any damage such items may suffer during travel.*
No type of perishable food is accepted on codeshare flights. For more information, please contact the consulates or customs offices of your countries of destination or transit.
Surfboards shorter than 107 cm (42 inches), skis, snowboards, bows and arrows, kitesurfing and wakeboarding equipment and scooters must be transported as checked baggage. If such items measure over 107 cm (42 inches), they will be subject to a fee.
Bicycles and tandem bicycles are not included in your baggage allowance. Therefore, an additional fee will apply according to the destination.

Transporting children’s items (for children up to 2 years of age)
On flights operated by Air France, passengers travelling with a lap child are entitled to 1 (one) small piece of additional baggage up to 10 kg (22 lbs), whose total dimensions (length, width, height) must not exceed 115 cm (45 in).
For passengers with connecting flights, GOL carry-on regulations will apply starting with the first segment operated by GOL. Understand these rules before you travel.
Checked baggage on codeshare flights must be claimed at the final destination, when the trip originates in Brazil. When a passenger travelling to Brazil from Europe is making a connection, the checked baggage must be claimed at the first destination in Brazil. After going through the mandatory customs procedures, the passenger must go to a GOL counter to check their baggage again.
Lost baggage service
Passengers connecting to domestic GOL flights from international flights who, when retrieving their baggage for customs inspections at the connecting airport, find that their baggage has been lost or damaged during the international flight, must contact the airline that operated the first flight of their trip.
As of the date of receiving their baggage, passengers have up to seven days to request indemnification by filling out the complaint form available on Air France’s website or mailing a complaint to Air France’s customer service center.
To report the incident before leaving the airport, the passenger must go to Air France’s baggage service office at the airport of arrival. The damage to the baggage will be assessed and the necessary information for repairs will be provided, as well as a reference number, which should be used to monitor the progress of the claim.
Air France economy class passengers are entitled to 1 (one) carry-on baggage item, whose total dimensions (length, width, height) may not exceed 115 cm (45 inches), including pockets, wheels and handles, and whose weight must not exceed 12 kg (26 lbs). Passengers travelling on all other classes are entitled to 2 (two) carry-on baggage items with the abovementioned size restrictions and whose total weight may not exceed 18 kg (40 lbs).
On GOL aircraft, the maximum weight for carry-on baggage is 5 kg (11 lbs). GOL will not accept carry-on baggage exceeding 10 kg (22 lbs). In such cases, the baggage will be checked.
All electronics must be transported as carry-on baggage. Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders and tablets must go through the x-ray machine at the security checkpoint. For this reason, these items must travel with you.
Valuable objects like jewelry and cash must also be transported in carry-on baggage.
Bladed or blunt weapons, firearms, firearm cartridges and ammunition, printer cartridges, liquids in bottles over 100 ml, combustible materials, batteries with electrolytes, lithium batteries with output greater than 160 Wh, fireworks, explosives, paint, chemical products and mercury thermometers are prohibited in carry-on baggage.
*Do not check valuable objects like: jewelry, cash and electronics. These items should be transported as carry-on baggage.
