Baggage

The baggage allowance is honored by GOL only for flights issued on the same ticket. For flights issued one way at a time (purchased separately), even with a partner airline, the baggage allowance will not be honored. In this case, the deductible and rule for each purchased section apply.

It is not possible to purchase checked baggage in advance on digital channels. The purchase must be made directly at the counter of the company that will check in, and this will be honored until the final destination.

Fragile objects
Fragile objects are accepted as long as they are properly packaged. However, if the product is damaged for any reason, it will not be up to the company to make the reimbursement. See the air transport contract for more information.

Perishable
No type of perishable food will be accepted. For more information, contact the consular or customs services of the destination and transit countries.

Transportation of items for babies (from 0 to 2 incomplete years old)
If a baby travels in their own (reserved) seat, they are entitled to the same amount of luggage as an adult. If you are traveling in your lap, you can check luggage of up to 10 kg.

A free franchise of 1 baby stroller (for use) and/or 1 comfort baby will be provided free of charge.

Baggage collection
Your luggage tags must show your final destination.
When the passenger comes from an international origin to Brazil, in the case of connecting passengers, the luggage must be collected at the first stop in the country (Brazil). After the mandatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the GOL counter to check the luggage again.

When the customer is destined for Colombia, in the case of passengers connecting in Colombia, there is no need to pick up the luggage on the connection, it will be sent to the final destination.

When the customer is destined for the United States, in the case of passengers connecting in the United States, the luggage must be collected at the first stop in that country. After the mandatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the counter of the airline operating the next flight to check the luggage again.

Loss of luggage
In the event of a loss of luggage, the responsibility for recording and monitoring the status of the baggage process lies with the last airline to carry the passenger. If the loss of luggage is identified when connecting international flights to domestic GOL flights, the customer must open the baggage process with the company that carried it the previous leg.

Damaged luggage
In the case of damaged luggage, the customer must contact the last carrier to have a baggage process opened. If damage from an international flight to a domestic GOL flight is found, the process must be opened with the carrier of the first leg.

Hand luggage
A bag or backpack up to 10 kg and a small suitcase up to 10 kg whose size does not exceed 55 cm in height, 35 cm in width and 25 cm in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, are allowed as hand luggage.
All electronics must be carried as hand luggage. Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders, tablets, and portable chargers/spare batteries must pass through the airport's X-ray machine at the entrance of the departure lounge.

Valuable objects, such as jewelry and money, are also accepted in hand luggage only.

It is forbidden to carry in hand luggage: bladed weapons; firearms; cartridges and ammunition for firearms; printer cartridges; bottles containing more than 100 ml of liquid; fuels; electrolyte batteries, lithium batteries with a power greater than 100 Wh and or 27,000 mAh; fireworks; bombs; inks; chemical products and mercury thermometers.

Excess and Extra Baggage
For tickets purchased by GOL, with flights purely operated by the Partner or in connection with GOL, the advance purchase of luggage on our channels is not available. This process can only be performed upon direct check-in at the GOL counter at the airport on the day of departure.

The following amounts cover the entire current working day without the need for additional payment when connecting with a Partner.

  • Central America/Caribbean/Mexico flights: R$ 550.00 or USD 115.00
  • USA/other destinations flights: R$ 600.00 or USD 120.00

Maximum dimensions allowed:
Maximum of 1.58 m in the sum of the dimensions (width + height + depth).
