If you are traveling with children under 16 years of age, it is recommended that they be on the same reservation as the responsible adult, as this will allow us to identify this condition in advance and allocate passengers to adjacent seats, regardless of whether pre-selected seats have been purchased.

Additionally, you can select your seats at any time, according to the applicable fare, or you can find free seats and proceed with your selection within the check-in window (48 hours before the flight).

We recommend that you check in through the available service channels and select your seats in advance. If this is not possible, please contact us through our Customer Service Center (0300 115 2121) or visit our staff at the airport before the check-in deadline (1 hour before flight departure).

Domestic flights

The document for a child or adolescent up to 16 years of age must prove parentage or kinship with the responsible adult, who must also present a valid photo ID. Traveler documents must be in good condition.

What documents are accepted to identify a minor and allow boarding?
 

  • Valid passport with parentage information. If this information is missing, another document proving kinship or confirmation from the Federal Police is required;
  • Original or certified copy of an Identity Card (RG);
  • A birth certificate is also valid for passengers up to 12 years of age (original or certified copy);
  • DNI (National Identity Document);
  • Acceptance of a Police Report for children (0 to 12 years of age) must be done after consultation with the Children and Youth Court of each locality.

According to the Statute of Children and Adolescents, minors under 16 years of age may travel accompanied by relatives over 18 years of age up to the third degree (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, siblings, and nephews/nieces).

Documents required for the minor traveler to prove kinship?
 

Traveling with parents or siblings over 18 years of age:

  • Identity card (RG) (original or certified copy);
  • Birth certificate (original or certified copy);
  • Valid passport with parentage information. If this information is missing, another document proving kinship or confirmation from the Federal Police is required.

Traveling with grandparents or uncles/aunts:

  • Birth certificate (original or certified copy).
  • Valid passport with parentage information. If this information is missing, another document proving kinship or confirmation from the Federal Police is required.

Domestic destinations

  • GOL does not transport children aged 0 to 8 years old unaccompanied by a responsible adult over 18 years of age.
  • Infants up to 2 years old can board domestic flights without paying for the airfare. On international flights, they pay 10% of the adult fare. On both domestic and international flights, the infant must travel on the lap of a responsible adult over 18 years of age.
  • Only one infant per passenger is allowed. In the case of twins, two paying adults are required. For more information, visit the website of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

Minors aged 0 to 18 traveling with parents, and minors under the age of 18 on domestic flights

Customers under the age of 16 traveling without an accompanying responsible adult—but traveling with their own children—must present, in addition to their personal documents, a court order or an authorization from their parents/legal guardian. This authorization must be in the form of a public deed or a private document with a notarized signature (verified by signature comparison or authenticity). Such documentation is required for domestic travel because individuals under 16 still have limited civil capacity. If the Customer (parent) is over 16 or holds proof of emancipation, this authorization is not required, and boarding will proceed according to the procedures for an adult/person over 16.

Digital signatures from the "GOV.BR" government platform and other digital certifications are not equivalent to signatures notarized by a notary public.

All boarding procedures for minors are based on child and adolescent protection regulations, such as the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) and CNJ Resolution No. 295/19.

International flights

What documents are accepted to identify a minor and allow their boarding?

In the case of children born in a full member country or associated state of Mercosur*, if the document presented is the identity card, it must be presented along with the birth certificate.

If the minor under 16 years of age is traveling unaccompanied by their parents (or guardian), in addition to the documents mentioned above, it is also necessary to present:

  • If the child or adolescent is traveling with only one parent:
  • You need to provide judicial authorization or authorization from the other parent with notarized signature (in the latter case, in two original copies).
  • If the child or adolescent is traveling accompanied by third parties over 18:
  • Judicial authorization or authorization from both parents with notarized signature is required (in the latter case, in two original copies).
  • If the child or adolescent is traveling unaccompanied:

    - Authorization in duplicate from both parents or legal guardians is required, with a photo of the child (optional) and with signatures authenticated by a notary public; OR
  • Court authorization (mandatory in duplicate); OR
  • Passports that include an option for international travel authorization, where the identification page of the ordinary passport must contain the printed travel authorization with only one parent, or unaccompanied.

Documents of parents or legal guardians:
 

  • Valid passport or, exclusively for travel to Mercosur countries, Identity Card (RG);
  • Citizens born in a full member country or associated state of Mercosur* may present their original identity card or passport within its validity period.

* Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

GOL destinations requiring a visa:
 

  • United States;
  • Panama (except for stays of less than 180 days for tourism);
  • Dominican Republic (except for Brazilians, who can obtain a Tourist Card upon arrival for stays of less than 30 days);
  • Suriname (except for stays of less than 3 months. In this case, a fee of $100 is charged).

Before purchasing your ticket, it is important to consult the consulate of your destination country to inquire about visa requirements, as rules vary from country to country. All destinations require a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of return.

International destinations

  • Attention! For trips to or from the Mexican city of Cancún, travelers of all ages must present the country's Immigration Form. The document must be printed in duplicate: the first copy will remain at the immigration entrance and the second must be handed in upon return. If the traveler does not present it, they will have to request a second copy, paying for it. Access the Cancún immigration form and fill it out.

Child restraint system (car seat)

GOL offers a special child seat that can be used on board its aircraft for an additional fee. It accommodates a child up to 2 years old and must be requested 7 days prior to a domestic or international flight.

For safety reasons, the installation of the child seat must follow certain rules, such as not obstructing passenger circulation or emergency exits. In this case, the price of a new seat will be charged.
