Here's everything you need to know about flying with carry-on baggage.
Standard carry-on baggage Carry-on baggage must be placed in the overhead compartments. It is therefore important to respect the dimensions and weights allowed: 35 cm wide, 55 cm high and 25 cm deep, including wheels. If the baggage does not meet the established standards, the customer will be charged an excess baggage fee.
Personal Items Personal items such as a backpack, purse, eco-bag, laptop bag, airport shopping bag and camera/electronic case may be placed under the seat in front of you. The maximum dimensions for personal items are 35 cm wide, 45 cm high and 20 cm deep.
Bag and backpack labels You can have your personal items tagged at check-in or at the boarding gate. This will help keep your flight organized and on time.
Standard carry-on baggage: in the overhead bins. Depending on the aircraft, bags may be placed vertically or horizontally.
Personal items: should be placed under the seat in front of you.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of our Flight Attendants for assistance.
In order to avoid setbacks when travelling, it is essential to know in advance what is allowed or not to take in your carry-on. It is also important to know which items require prior authorization from GOL
You can take personal hygiene items or non-radioactive medicinal items including aerosols, as long as:
This category includes products such as atomizers, perfumes, colognes and medicines that contain alcohol.
Please note: these items can also be carried in checked baggage.
Extra batteries for portable electronic devices (batteries, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries) must be carried exclusively in carry-on baggage. Power sources (such as the power bank) are also considered spare batteries.
You can take a maximum of two extra batteries, which must be individually protected to prevent short circuits.
Other important recommendations:
Important: Li-ion batteries between 100 and 160 Wh, or lithium metal batteries between 2 and 8 g (for use only in portable medical electronic devices), can only be transported with authorization from GOL and only in carry-on baggage. Above these indices, transport is totally prohibited in any circumstance.
Carrying beverages in your carry-on will depend on the alcohol content and the type of flight. Remembering that permitted beverages can only be transported by people over 18 years old and must be in leak-proof, labeled and sealed packaging. Otherwise, transportation may be denied.
Up to 23% alcohol content by volume
From 24 to 70% alcohol content by volume
More than 70% alcohol by volume.
See more information about transporting alcoholic beverages in the "Checked Baggage" tab.
Battery-powered electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers can be carried in carry-on baggage. Items must be individually secured in designated carry cases to prevent accidental activation and cannot be recharged on board the aircraft.
The transport of small bottles of gaseous carbon dioxide used by passengers to drive mechanical members is permitted. Replacement bottles of similar size can also be carried to ensure adequate supplies for the duration of the flight.

Smart bags must be transported exclusively as carry-on. There is an exception only if the battery is removable. In this case, you can remove it to take it in the cabin with you and check your suitcase only.
Important: under no circumstances will smart bags with batteries of more than 100 Wh be accepted. Lithium batteries used in this type of bag can short circuit and cause a fire that is difficult to control by the aircraft's fire extinguisher system.
Insulating packages containing refrigerated liquid nitrogen fully absorbed in porous material and intended for the transport of non-hazardous products at low temperatures are allowed. The package design must not allow pressure to build up inside the container or release any amount of liquid nitrogen, regardless of the position of the insulating package.

Your carry-on can take:
You may carry medication in your carry-on, as long as they are accompanied by a medical prescription. We recommend you ask your doctor for an additional prescription and, if necessary, provide one in the language of the destination country. It's also good to have your doctor's report handy to present to airport security authorities.
Another important matter is that some drugs, such as insulin, need adequate transport. Therefore, contact the manufacturer to find out about the correct packaging during the trip. It is essential to know that GOL accepts a maximum of 2.5 kg of dry ice to store medicines (carry-on or checked baggage).
Important: Passengers with some acute illnesses need prior authorization from the GOL medical team to travel. Check all the rules for transport in the “Person with health problems” area.

Items such as cash, documents, jewelry, electronic and fragile equipment must be transported as hand luggage. We are not responsible for loss or damage to these objects.
Check out some tips so you can set your luggage in the best way:
⦁ The identification tag inserted at check-in may be lost en route to the aircraft. Therefore, personal identifications can speed up the location in cases of loss. On the outside, place your own identifier with your surname, telephone number and e-mail address and, on the inside, place a business card or a piece of paper with the same data;
⦁ Before checking your luggage, remove all tags from previous trips;
⦁ Personalize your luggage with ribbons, stickers or any other accessories that can easily identify it on the baggage claim belt and avoid exchanges;
⦁ Adapt the size of your luggage to your needs and make sure it is closed properly. Excessively overloaded baggage is in danger of breaking;
⦁ Take your valuables, fragile or indispensable (keys, documents, jewelry, money, medication, prescriptions, etc.) in your carry-on;
⦁ Ensure your items can be transported in the cabin or hold;
⦁ Photograph your checked luggage before travel.
