Browse the menu below and check out the main rules of this GOL Partner company:
Packing
The baggage allowance is honored by GOL only for flights issued on the same ticket. For flights issued separately (purchased individually), even with a partner airline, the baggage allowance will not be honored. In these situations, the baggage allowance and rules for each purchased segment will apply.
It is not possible to purchase checked baggage in advance through digital channels. The purchase must be made directly at the counter of the airline where you will be checking in and will be honored until you reach your final destination.
Fragile items
Fragile items are accepted as long as they are properly packed. However, if the product is damaged for any reason, the company is not responsible for reimbursing you. See the Air Carrier Contract for more information.
Perishables
Perishable items are not accepted. For more information, please contact the consular or customs offices of the destination and transit countries.
Transport of infant items (0 to 2 years of age)
When traveling in their own (reserved) seat, infants are entitled to the same checked baggage allowance as an adult. If they are traveling on your lap, they can check in one piece of baggage up to 10 kg.
A complimentary allowance of 1 stroller (for use) and/or 1 baby carrier will be provided.
Baggage claim
Your baggage tags must indicate your final destination.
If the passenger is coming to Brazil from an international origin, in case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be claimed at the first stop in the country (Brazil). After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the GOL counter to reclaim the baggage.
If the customer is traveling the United States, in the case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be collected at the first stop in the country. After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the counter of the company operating the next flight to reclaim the baggage.
Lost baggage
In the event of lost baggage, the responsibility for registering and monitoring the status of the baggage file lies with the last airline to transport the passenger. If baggage is found to be lost when connecting international flights to domestic GOL flights, the customer must open a baggage case with the airline that transported them on the previous leg.
Damaged baggage
In the case of damaged baggage, the customer must contact the last carrier to open a baggage claim. If the damage is from an international flight to a domestic GOL flight, the case should be opened with the carrier of the first leg.
Carry-on baggage
One piece of carry-on baggage is permitted with dimensions that do not exceed 55 cm in height, 35 cm in width and 25 cm in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, and a total weight of up to 10 kg.
All electronics must be carried as carry-on items. Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders and tablets must go through the airport's X-ray machine at the entrance to the departure lounge.
Valuables such as jewelry and cash must also be carried as carry-on items.
It is forbidden to carry in hand luggage: bladed weapons, firearms, cartridges and ammunition for firearms, printer cartridges, bottles with more than 100 ml of liquid, fuels, batteries with electrolytes, lithium batteries with a capacity of more than 160 Wh, fireworks, bombs, paints, chemicals and mercury thermometers.
Excess and excess baggage
For tickets purchased through GOL, on flights operated exclusively by the Partner or on flights connecting with GOL, it is not possible to purchase baggage in advance through our channels. This process can only be done at the airport on the day of departure, at the GOL check-in desk.

- More than 30 weeks pregnant or at risk (at any time): You must obtain a written authorization from your doctor. Present the certificate at check-in.
In the certificate, the doctor must authorize your travel in writing, taking into account the destination and duration of your trip. During check-in, you will be asked to fill out an avianca form.
Live animals
The transportation of live animals is not permitted on GOL and avianca partner flights, except for guide dogs.
In order to request the guide dog service, please contact the operator(s) of the flights to be taken.
Important: Only one (1) service animal is allowed per passenger.
For more information about the required documentation, please contact the consular or customs services of the destination and transit countries.
Check-In
For flights where the first segment is operated by a GOL flight, check-in can be done through the digital channels (app or Website https://www.voegol.com.br/en) 24 hours before the international flight, or at the GOL counter at the airport and kiosk/totem on the day of departure.
If avianca is the operator of the first segment of the trip, check-in can be done either at the avianca counter or through the website: www.avianca.com.
Important! In order to check-in through digital channels, the following conditions apply:
- You must be within the check-in time window;
- The first flight segment must be operated by GOL, regardless of where the ticket was issued;
- Only available for adult passengers.
- The reservation cannot include special services;
- If you have baggage to check, you must go to the GOL counter, even if check-in has been done beforehand;
- If the first segment is not operated by GOL, check-in must be handled directly with the partner airline.
Remember that you must be in possession of valid travel documents*, such as a valid passport, visas and vaccinations, if applicable.
*Documentation (including visas and vaccinations) is the passenger's responsibility. We recommend that you check with the embassies of your destination countries to avoid any hassle.
Please note: Your boarding pass must include all segments of your itinerary. Also, you only need to check your baggage once and we will transfer it between flights. However, it is necessary to check the customs procedures of each destination country and remember that baggage policies may vary from airline to airline, so check before you travel..
Seats on GOL flights must be booked via the GOL website and/or call center: www.voegol.com.br/en-us/customer-service/telephones.
Seat reservations for Avianca flights must be made via the Call Center and/or at the airport on the day of departure.
Note: you can also choose your seats on flights operated by GOL on the day of departure, at check-in.
Note: On flights operated by GOL, your seat will be assigned automatically, and you can view it on your boarding pass after check-in. However, if you prefer to choose your seat, you can purchase it for an additional cost up to 60 hours before the flight.
