Packing
The baggage allowance is honored by GOL only for flights issued on the same ticket. For flights issued separately (purchased individually), even with a partner airline, the baggage allowance will not be honored. In these situations, the baggage allowance and rules for each purchased segment will apply.
It is not possible to purchase checked baggage in advance through digital channels. The purchase must be made directly at the counter of the airline operating the selected flight.
Fragile items
Fragile items are accepted as long as they are properly packed. However, if the product is damaged for any reason, the company is not responsible for reimbursing you.

Perishables
Perishable items are not accepted. For more information, please contact the consular or customs offices of the destination and transit countries.
Transport of items for infants (from 0 to 2 years of age)
If the infant is traveling in a separate (reserved) seat, the infant has the same checked baggage allowance as an adult. If they are traveling on the lap, you can check:
One piece of checked baggage up to 10 kg.
A complimentary allowance of 1 stroller (for use) and/or 1 baby carrier will be provided free of charge.
Baggage Claim
Your baggage tags must indicate your final destination.
If the passenger is coming from an international origin to a destination in Brazil, in case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be claimed at the first stop in the country (Brazil). After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the GOL counter to reclaim the baggage.
If the passenger has a connection in Europe, the baggage must be collected at the first stop in the destination country. After the mandatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the counter of the company operating the next flight to check in the baggage again.
Lost baggage
In case of lost baggage, the last airline that transported the passenger is responsible for registering and monitoring the status of the baggage.
If the baggage is lost during the connection between international flights and domestic GOL flights, the customer must file a claim with the airline that transported the baggage on the previous leg of the journey.
Damaged Baggage
In the case of damaged baggage, the customer must contact the last carrier in order to file damaged baggage claim. If damage is found on an international flight to a domestic GOL flight, the claim should be filed with the carrier of the first leg.
Carry-on baggage
One piece of carry-on baggage is allowed, not to exceed 55 cm in height, 35 cm in width and 25 cm in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, and not to exceed a total weight of 10 kg.
All electronics must be carried as carry-on items.
Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders and tablets must be screened through the airport's X-ray machine at the entrance to the departure lounge.
Valuables such as jewelry and cash must also be carried as carry-on items.
The following items are not allowed in carry-on baggage: bladed weapons, firearms, cartridges and ammunition for firearms, printer cartridges, bottles containing more than 100 ml of liquid, fuels, batteries with electrolytes, lithium batteries with a capacity of more than 160 Wh, fireworks, bombs, paints, chemicals and mercury thermometers.
Excess and excess baggage
For tickets purchased through GOL, on flights operated exclusively by the Partner or on flights connecting with GOL, it is not possible to purchase baggage in advance through our channels. This process can only be done at the airport on the day of departure, at the GOL check-in desk.
The following rates cover the entire current trip, with no additional payment required when connecting to a partner.

Additional baggage: up to 23 kg
- Economy – 2nd to 4th bags: USD 140.00
- Business – 3rd to 5th bags: USD 140.00

Total dimensions accepted
A total of 1.58m for the sum of the dimensions (width + height + depth).

Special Services
Special services - In order to request special services, contact the call center of the airline operating the segment of travel. Please note: Some services may not be available on flights operated in partnership with another airline.
Requests for assistance for passengers with special needs must be made at the time of booking or at least 72 hours prior to departure. For flights originating in Brazil, requests for special assistance, such as wheelchairs, may be made at least 48 hours prior to departure.
Unaccompanied minors
Minors under 16 years of age cannot travel unaccompanied.
Infants
Infants up to 1 year and 11 months of age pay up to 10% of the adult fare, but must travel on the lap of a responsible adult over 18 years of age. Only one infant is permitted per customer.
Expectant Mothers
Here are the guidelines for expectant mothers on South African Airways flights:
- Less than 30 weeks pregnant: Consult your physician and confirm that air travel is appropriate for your overall health.
- More than 30 weeks pregnant or at risk (at any time): You must obtain written authorization from your physician. Present the certificate at check-in.
In the certificate, the doctor must authorize your travel in writing, taking into account the destination and duration of your trip. At check-in, you will be asked to complete a form.
Live Animals
The transportation of live animals is not permitted on GOL and South African partner flights, except for guide dogs.
In order to request the guide dog service, please contact the operator(s) of the flights to be taken.
Important: Only one (1) service animal is allowed per passenger.

Check-in
For flights where the first segment is operated by a GOL flight, check-in can be done through the digital channels (app or Website www.voegol.com.br/en-us) 24 hours before the international flight, or at the GOL counter at the airport and kiosk/totem on the day of departure.
If South African Airways is the operator of the first segment of the trip, check-in can be done either at the South African Airways at the airport or through the website: https://www.flysaa.com/.
Important! In order to check-in through digital channels, the following conditions apply:
- You must be within the check-in time window;
- The first flight segment must be operated by GOL, regardless of where the ticket was issued;
- Only available for adult passengers.
- The reservation cannot include special services;
- If you have baggage to check, you must go to the GOL counter, even if check-in has been done beforehand;
- If the first segment is not operated by GOL, check-in must be handled directly with the partner airline.
Remember that you must have valid documentation* for your trip, such as a valid passport, visas and vaccinations, if applicable.
*Documentation (including visas and vaccinations) is the responsibility of the passenger. We recommend that you check with the embassies of your destination countries to avoid any hassle.
*It is mandatory to present the International Yellow Fever vaccination certificate issued at least 10 days prior to the trip. The certificate must be presented in physical (printed) form and signed. To obtain the certificate, access Meu SUS Digital through the link https://meususdigital.saude.gov.br/.
Please note: Your boarding pass must include all segments of your itinerary. Also, you only need to check your baggage once and we will transfer it between flights. However, it is necessary to check the customs procedures of each destination country and remember that baggage policies can vary between airlines, so check them before you travel.
Seat Selection
Seats on GOL flights must be booked through the GOL website and/or customer service center: www.voegol.com.br/en-us/customer-service/telephones.

Please note: You may also choose your seat on GOL flights at check-in on the day of departure.
Note: On flights operated by GOL, your seat will be assigned automatically, and you can view it on your boarding pass after check-in. However, if you prefer to choose your seat, you can purchase it for an additional cost* up to 60 hours before the flight.
No-show
If you do not show up for boarding (no-show) on any of the flights (GOL or Partner), please contact your ticket issuer for a refund or rebooking.
