Explore the wonders of Canada with the GOL and Air Canada partnership. Enjoy seamless benefits from start to finish.
Single ticket purchase, check-in, and baggage handling for flights with GOL and Air Canada.
Traveling with Air Canada?
Browse the menu below to check the main rules of this GOL partner airline:
Packing
The following baggage allowance applies for roundtrips where the first flight departs from South America:
• Light fare: No checked baggage
• Plus fare: 1 piece of baggage up to 23 kg
• Max Fare: 2 bags up to 23 kg each
• Business Class: 2 bags up to 32 kg each
The baggage allowance is honored by GOL only for flights issued on the same ticket. For flights issued separately (purchased individually), even with a partner airline, the baggage allowance will not be honored. In these situations, the baggage allowance and rules for each purchased segment will apply.
It is not possible to purchase checked baggage in advance through digital channels. The purchase must be made directly at the counter of the airline operating the selected flight.
Fragile items
Fragile items are accepted as long as they are properly packed. However, if the product is damaged for any reason, the company is not responsible for reimbursing you. Check out the airline contract to learn more.
Perishables
Perishable items are not accepted. For more information, please contact the consular or customs offices of the destination and transit countries.
Transport of items for infants (from 0 to 2 years of age)
When traveling in their own (reserved) seat, infants are entitled to the same checked baggage allowance as an adult. If they are traveling on your lap, they can check in one piece of baggage up to 10 kg.
A complimentary allowance of 1 stroller (for use) and/or 1 baby carrier will be provided free of charge.
Baggage Claim
If the passenger is coming from an international origin to a destination in Brazil, in case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be claimed at the first stop in the country (Brazil). After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the GOL counter to reclaim the baggage.
When traveling from Brazil to other countries, in the case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be collected at the first stop abroad. After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the counter of the next carrier to check in the baggage again.
Lost baggage
In case of lost baggage, the last airline that transported the passenger is responsible for registering and monitoring the status of the baggage. If the baggage is lost during the connection between international flights and domestic GOL flights, the customer must file a claim with the airline that transported the baggage on the previous leg of the journey.
Damaged Baggage
In the event of damaged baggage, the customer must contact the last carrier to open a baggage claim file. If damage is found on an international flight to a domestic GOL flight, the file should be opened with the carrier of the first leg.
Carry-on baggage
One piece of carry-on baggage is permitted with dimensions that do not exceed 55 cm in height, 35 cm in width and 25 cm in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, and a total weight of up to 10 kg.
All electronic devices must be transported as carry-on baggage. Laptops, cameras, mobile phones, video cameras, tablets, and portable chargers/spare batteries must go through the X-ray machine at the airport’s boarding gate.
Valuables such as jewelry and money are also only allowed as carry-on baggage.
The transport of the following items as carry-on baggage is prohibited: knives, firearms, gun cartridges and ammunition, printer cartridges, containers with more than 100 ml of liquid, fuels, electrolyte batteries, lithium batteries over 100 Wh, fireworks, explosives, paints, chemicals, and mercury thermometers.

Expectant Mothers
Here are the guidelines for expectant mothers on Air Canada flights:
• Less than 30 weeks pregnant: Consult your physician and confirm that air travel is appropriate for your overall health.
• More than 30 weeks pregnant or at risk (at any time): You must obtain written authorization from your physician. Present the certificate at check-in.
In the certificate, the doctor must authorize your travel in writing, taking into account the destination and duration of your trip. At check-in, you will be asked to complete an Air Canada form.
Please note that GOL has specific guidelines for our flights, which can be found here.
Live animals
The transportation of live animals is not permitted on GOL and Air Canada partner flights, except for guide dogs.
In order to request the guide dog service, please contact the operator(s) of the flights to be taken.
Important: Only one (1) service animal is allowed per passenger.
For more information about the required documentation, please contact the consular or customs services of the destination and transit countries.
The above procedures apply to flights operated by GOL and Air Canada. If your flight is only operated by Air Canada, please check their website.
Check-in
For flights where the first segment is operated by a GOL flight, check-in can be done through the digital channels (app or Website www.voegol.com.br) 24 hours before the international flight, or at the GOL counter at the airport and kiosk/totem on the day of departure.
If Air Canada is the operator of the first segment of the trip, check-in can be done either at the Air Canada counter or through the website: www.aircanada.com.br/.
Important! In order to check-in through digital channels, the following conditions apply:
- You must be within the check-in time window;
- The first flight segment must be operated by GOL, regardless of where the ticket was issued;
- Only available for adult passengers.
- The reservation cannot include special services;
- If you have baggage to check, you must go to the GOL counter, even if check-in has been done beforehand;
- If the first segment is not operated by GOL, check-in must be handled directly with the partner airline.
To check in your baggage, go to the first carrier's check-in counter.
*The passenger is accountable for all documentation (including visas and vaccinations). We recommend you to consult with the embassies of your destination countries to avoid any hassle.
Special Services
To request special services, contact the call center of the airline operating the segment of your trip. The stricter rule will apply to the entire trip if the rules differ between airlines.
Seat Selection
Seats on GOL flights must be booked through the GOL website and/or customer service center: https://www.voegol.com.br/en-us/customer-service/contacts-online-support.
Seats on Air Canada flights must be booked through the Air Canada website. For more details: www.aircanada.com.br/
Please note: You may also choose your seat on GOL flights at check-in on the day of departure.
Note: On flights operated by GOL, your seat will be assigned automatically, and you can view it on your boarding pass after check-in. However, if you prefer to choose your seat, you can purchase it for an additional cost* up to 60 hours before the flight.
No-show
If you do not show up for boarding (no-show) on any of the segments (GOL or Partner), please contact the issuer of your ticket to request a refund or rebooking.
