*The refund penalty is only charged if the passenger chooses to receive the refund via the original payment method, such as a credit card. In this case, the cancellation fee applies, and the refund penalty is deducted from the residual amount. For all fare types, the boarding fee is refundable.

Airline tickets may be canceled and fully refunded at no cost if requested within 24 hours of receiving the purchase confirmation and if the ticket was purchased at least 7 days before the scheduled departure date.

USA (United States), PUJ (Punta Cana/Dominican Republic), CUN (Cancún/Mexico), SJO (San José/Costa Rica), AUA (Oranjestad/Aruba).

IMPORTANT:

Customers who purchase tickets on or after 01/23/2025 will be subject to the new rules for flight changes, cancellations, and no-show for flights to or from San José (SJO) and Aruba (AUA).

If an international ticket was purchased in a currency other than US dollars, the USD-based conditions will be converted to the currency used at the time of purchase, based on the exchange rate of the day.

Airline tickets may be fully canceled and refunded at no cost if the request is made within 24 hours of receiving the purchase confirmation and the ticket was purchased at least 7 days before the scheduled departure date.

For all fare types, boarding fees are refundable.

GOL Check out this refund example:
According to the fare chart, the cancellation fee is BRL 400 or 100% of the fare, whichever is lower. For instance, if you paid BRL 200 for a one-way ticket, the full amount will be charged as the cancellation fee. However, if you paid BRL 500 for a one-way ticket, the fee will be limited to BRL 400. In the case of round-trip tickets, the fee is applied per segment and per passenger.


Learn the difference between GOL credit and refund

GOL Credit Refund:
After the cancellation fee is applied, if you choose to receive your refund as GOL credit, the remaining amount is added to your GOL account with no additional charges. The credit is made available quickly, allowing you to plan your next trip with ease.
GOL credit is typically valid for up to 12 months (check specific conditions), and it’s ideal for passengers who know they’ll be flying with GOL again. You must be logged into your GOL account to receive the credit.

Refund to Original Payment Method:
If you choose to receive the refund via your original form of payment, the refund penalty will be deducted according to the fare rules selected at the time of purchase. In case of payments made via PIX or debit card, GOL will process the refund within 7 days to the bank account provided. For credit card payments, the refund is also processed within 7 days, but the posting time will depend on the card issuer.

How to choose?
If you plan to fly with GOL again soon, GOL credit is often more convenient and faster. It also typically provides a higher refund value, and you can use it to purchase tickets or services for yourself or someone else.
If you prefer to receive your money back, even if it takes longer, the refund to the original payment method may be the better option for you.


Refund Processing Period

After your cancellation and refund request, GOL will return the amount (minus applicable fees) to your credit card issuer within 7 business days, regardless of the original payment method. Once the amount is refunded to the card issuer, the charge will be reversed on your statement according to your card brand's processing time. For international refunds, the processing period may take up to 30 days. Some banks or card issuers will still process and post the charge before issuing a refund on your statement, while others may cancel the charge as soon as they receive the information from GOL. If you have any questions, please contact your card issuer directly.

Boarding Fee
Boarding fees are refundable and are not included in the calculation base for fines or penalties.

Cancellation
If the ticket is purchased at least 7 days before the scheduled departure date, the passenger may cancel the purchase free of charge, provided the cancellation is requested within 24 hours of receiving the confirmation.
For purchases made less than 7 days before departure or after the 24-hour cancellation window, passengers may choose cancellation, credit, or refund options, subject to penalties according to the applicable fare rules.


Cancellation and Refund of GOL Products

Checked Baggage

If you purchased an additional checked baggage allowance and will not be using it, you may request a refund or credit for the amount paid. This request must be made before departure through our Customer Service Center.

GOL+ Comfort Seat

If you purchased a GOL+ Comfort seat but no longer plan to use it, you may request a refund or credit for the amount paid. This request must also be made before departure through our Customer Service Center.

 


How to Cancel Your Ticket

    Go to GOL’s website and log in to your account.

    Click the menu with your name (passenger’s name) and select “My Trips.”

    Choose the ticket you wish to cancel and follow the on-screen instructions.

    How to Cancel Your Ticket:

    • Receive the amount as GOL credit, available immediately after cancellation. You must be logged in to select this option.
    • Request a refund, which will be processed according to the original payment method and applicable fare rules.
