CARRY-ON BAGGAGE​

Free Carry-on Baggage (one bag plus one personal item)

Carry on luggage has strict limitations due to space available for storage. All bags carried onboard must fit in the overhead bins or underneath the seat in front of you (floor storage not allowed on bulkheads or exit rows to comply to safety regulations). Carry on luggage dimensions limited to the linear sum of 115 cm (length + width + height). Additionally, customers may bring onboard a small personal item such as:

a) 1 purse, briefcase, camera bag, or diaper bag

b) or 1 laptop computer

c) or 1 item of similar size

Additional items allowed on board (not subject to personal item limitation):

a) Special items like strollers, child restraint seats, or assistive devices such as wheelchairs oor crutches

All items subject to onboard space limitations and storage space, and may need to be gate checked free of charge.

OVERSIZE OR OVERWEIGHT CHECKED BAGGAGE

Should your checked bag weigh more than 23 kg (51 lbs), you will be charged an excess baggage fee of R$25.00 per extra kg for domestic flights and US$8.00 per extra kg for international flights. Bags may not exceed 45 kg (99 lbs) on domestic flights and 32 kg (71 lbs) on international flights. How much excess weight allowance can I purchase?

Each passenger can pay for up to 200 kg (441 lbs) of excess baggage. Passengers traveling with total baggage in excess of this limit will need to check their items as cargo with GOLLOG.

  • Up to 10 bags may be checked per passenger on flights operated by GOL
  • All excess or overweight bags are accepted on a space-available basis. If the baggage cannot be carried on the same flight with you, it will be transported on the next available flight.

PETS AS CHECKED ITENS

Transport of dogs and cats (except animals with short muzzle and guide dogs) are permitted by GOL (subject to charge). Wild animals should be transported via cargo (Gollog).

Many countries have strict regulations regarding international pet travel. Remember to make arrangements in advance.

  • Contact the embassy or consulate of the destination country to determine pet travel regulations.
  • Obtain all necessary paperwork (such as health certificates and documentation) regarding your pet's travel.
  • Contact your local veterinarian to ensure your pet is in compliance with foreign health regulations.
  • Check with the CDC about the importation of pets into the United States.
  • Check with APHIS about international animal export regulations.

Additional fees and charges may apply. Terminal handling charges, customs clearance fees, veterinarian service, and/or kennel storage fees are in addition to shipping rates and will be charged to the shipper or pet owner upon arrival at destination airport. All fees and charges must be paid in full prior to the release of animal.

Additionally:

  • Must be brought to the GOL facility at least four hours prior to departure
  • Live animal shipments for international transfers to other carriers are not accepted
  • Require kennels that have ventilation openings on three sides, in addition to the door opening.

Service charge of R$ 90.00 (or equivalent) PLUS a fee based on weight (1% of the fare Y x bodyweight + shipping box)

At this time GOL does not accept pets in cabin for a fee, with the exception of service or guide dogs, which are free of charge.

Fee to process a cancelation and credit miles in your account:

• Fees vary between BRL 80 to 100 or USD 40 to 50 depending on categories used to issue the ticket

Miles that would have otherwise expired will not be credited back to the account.

PREFERRED SEATS

At GOL you can assign your seats before check-in for the flight is available, for a small fee. Seats may be assigned free of charge within the check-in period, starting 7 days before the departure time.

The fee for GOL preferential seating may vary according to destination, duration of the flight, seat type and other rules.
