How many packages and items can you take on your trip?
To organise your trip in the best way possible, it is very important to know in advance how many bags you can take and which items are allowed or prohibited inside the airplane.
It is also essential to consider that some fares offer the benefit of free baggage shipping. To discover everything about your baggage, choose one of the tabs below:
What may I bring?
All passengers may travel with a carry-on bag weighing up to 10 kg (22 lbs) and a personal item like a handbag, laptop, tablet or a bag with products purchased at a duty-free shop
Dimensions allowed
When choosing your carry-on baggage, you must follow the following dimensions:
Tips for an easy and practical boarding
- Prefer backpacks or small bags. If the chosen baggage does not fit in the dimensions informed (up to 35 x 25 x 55 cm), it will be necessary to check it in and deduct the amount of the allowance on your ticket;
- If your seat is not at the emergency exit or the front rows of the aircraft, place your belongings in the seat pocket ahead or in the available space underneath the seat.
Important: the accommodation in the passenger cabin is subjected to space availability on the superior baggage compartments, it could be checked at the departure gate even if it is within the allowable standard.
Items allowed
To avoid bigger problems when travelling, it is essential to know in advance which is allowed to take or not in your carry-on baggage. It is also important to know which items need previous authorization by GOL.
- Personal hygiene or medicinal items
-
You may bring non-radioactive medical or personal care items, including aerosols, as long as:
- The total net quantity of all referenced items carried by a single passenger (both in carry-on and checked baggage) does not exceed 2 kg or 2 L;
- The net quantity of any individual item does not exceed 500 g or 500 ml;
- The number of aerosols and atomizers in carry-on baggage does not exceed four flasks per person. The content of each of these flasks must also be less than 300 mL or 300 g (ANAC Resolution 207);
- Aerosol decompression valves are protected by a capsule or other suitable means preventing the involuntary release of their contents.
In this class we have products as atomizers, perfumes, colognes and medication (which contains alcohol).
Important: those items can also be transported in the checked baggage. - Separate batteries up to 100 Wh, 2 g or 12 V
-
Extra batteries for portable electronic devices (batteries, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries) must be carried in carry-on baggage only. Power sources (such as the power bank) are also considered to be spare batteries.
You can take a maximum of two extra batteries, which must be individually protected to prevent short circuits. Other important recommendations:
- For lithium metal batteries, the lithium content must not exceed 2 g;
- Lithium-ion battery should not exceed 100 Wh;
- Non-spillable battery must not exceed 100 Wh or 12 V.
Important: Lithium -ion batteries between 100 and 160 Wh, or lithium metal between 2 and 8 g (for exclusive use in portable medical electronic devices), can only be transported with authorization from GOL and only in carry-on baggage. The transportation is totally prohibited with items which exceed the limits specified above.

- Up to 15 devices and 20 extra batteries are allowed per person. GOL does not transport hoverboards, segways and other "self-balance" equipment.
Smart bags must be transported exclusively as carry-on baggage. The exception is if the battery is removable. In this case, you can remove it to store it in the cabin with you and check only the suitcase.

Recommendations
Below are some tips on the best way to pack your bags:
• The identification tag attached to your baggage during check-in may be lost while the bag is in transit to the aircraft. Therefore, personalized baggage tags can speed up the recovery of lost baggage. On the outside of the baggage, place a personalized tag with your last name, telephone number and email address and, on the inside of the bag, place a card or piece of paper with this same information.
• Before checking your baggage, remove all tags from previous flights.
• Personalize your baggage with ribbons, stickers or any other accessory that will make it easier for you to identify it on the baggage carousel.
• Make sure the size of your baggage meets your needs and check that it is properly closed. Over-stuffed baggage could burst open during transit.
• Transport valuable, fragile and indispensable objects like keys, documents, jewelry, cash, medication and prescriptions in your carry-on baggage.
• Check whether your items can be transported in the passenger cabin or in the cargo hold.
• Take pictures of your checked baggage before travelling.
