Fines, credits and refunds

Have even more peace of mind by learning all about GOL's different fares before selecting the one that's best for you and purchasing your ticket. Do you need to have flexible dates? There are no cancellation or change fees for GOL Premium Class (international flights) and Flexible Fare (domestic flights). For more fare information, please click here.

The following table contains the fees and reimbursement rates for each fare type.

*You will be charged the amount indicated or the full fare, whichever is lowest.

Exemple: you purchased a ticket under the Plan Ahead plan, but couldn't make the flight. Your refund will have a 50% refund fee deducted from the original ticket price, in addition to a R$120.00 no show fine.

Children (CHD), from 2 (two) to 11 (eleven) years of age, receive discounts of at least 25% (twenty five percent) on the adult fare (ADT).

Here's some additional information on each option:



When you cancel or change a flight, you may receive a credit. This is an amount you can use for GOL flights at a later date. If you choose this option, this amount may be used for purchasing new tickets, including tickets with promotional fares, and for paying for excess luggage, fare differences or airport fees.

You will have 12 months to use the credit, as of the ticket purchase date. Example: you purchased a ticket on January 1, 2016 and canceled your trip on March 1, 2016 for a credit with GOL. You will have until January 1, 2017 to use the credit, regardless of the date on which you cancelled the reservation.

If you did not use your card and wish to be credited those points, please call the GOL Sales Center (0300-115-2121). Remember that you can buy tickets using a third party credit card, but transferring credits between GOL accounts is not allowed.

Please note! If you are not a registered member on the website, you cannot choose the credit option. In that case, your only option is to receive a refund. For more information, please contact our Online Customer Service.



When you cancel or change a flight, you can opt for a refund. If you request a refund, you will receive part of the amount paid for the ticket. Administrative fees may be deducted from the total amount, as per fare rules. Also be aware that some fares do not allow for refunds after the first segment has been flown.

If you issued your ticket with Smiles miles for a GOL flight, avoid missing your flight because you could lose your miles. In the event of a no-show, your miles are no longer refundable as of May, 2012. To help you avoid this loss, GOL is always available to change or cancel your flight beforehand.

You may request a refund anytime within 12 months from the date of the original ticket purchase. Note: if the requested refund is tied to a credit, the applicable fees will be deducted.


Failure to show up for boarding – No-show

Not arriving in a timely manner at check-in1 or at the boarding gate2 is considered a no-show. When this occurs, the passenger will need to pay a fee according to the applicable fare rule.

If you buy a round-trip domestic ticket but don't fly on the departing segment, your return trip is guaranteed, as long as you contact us before the scheduled time of the first flight.

In order to avoid hassles, always try to cancel those reservations you will not use in advance.

In case the passenger reschedules to a new flight, he or she will have to incur potential fare differences, if any, both as a result of price increases and a lack of availability of the same fare type for the new flight.


- Airport fees will be refunded and are not considered when calculating fines.

- For flights purchased 7 or more days before the boarding date, passengers may cancel a ticket purchase at no cost, as long as they do so within 24 hours of receiving their confirmation. In all other cases, passengers may request to cancel their flight and receive credit or a refund. Fees may apply, depending on the selected fare rule.
